A reinforced garden hose is an essential garden tool not just for the professional but all us handy gardeners. When using a garden hose that is not a reinforced garden hose we come to expect certain hassles. These hassles have become second nature to us and make watering the garden much more of a chore than it needs to be. Without a reinforced retractable hose reel we are constantly backtracking to pull the hose straight and pull out all of the kinks. A reinforced garden hose should be lighter and more durable that a regular garden hose. A reinforced garden hose should be made of plastic or rubber; ordinary garden hoses are made of vinyl and are very heavy. Vinyl also becomes brittle in the sun and the cold and will crack more often than a reinforced garden hose. A reinforced garden hose will also be drink water safe. Check to see if the reinforced garden hose is approved by the FDA most regular hoses are not approved and therefore should not be used for drinking water. A reinforced garden hose should also come with solid brass fittings, if it comes with anything save you money
