Easy Gardening Tips

Today we’re listing the easiest and simplest plants and flowers to grow. We all suffer from similar problems of trying to be too adventurous with our garden, trying to grow too much too soon before we’ve mastered the basics of planting with quality seeds or watering with quality hose reels.
EASY-GROW FLOWERS
- Annuals–Pansies, calendula,sweet peas, baby blue eyes, dianthus, lunaria.
- Biennials–Foxglove, Sweet William.
- Perennials–Columbine, Shasta daisy, delphinium, Jacob’s ladder, bleeding heart, autumn joy, geranium, forget-me-not, primrose.
- Bulbs –Tulips, primrose, daffodils, crocus, snowdrops, lily
EASY-GROW HERBS
- Chives–Stems and flowers are edible. Seperate and split plants every 3 to 4 years.
- Mint–Keep contained and well-mulched. It will grow in shade or partial shade.
- Lemon balm–Member of mint family. Good in drinks or medicinal use.
- Sage–Blue-green leaves. Fragrant perennial; prefers well-draining soil.
- Chamomile–Great for herbal tea.
- Thyme–Plants can tire and may need to be replaced after several years.
- Dill–You need this for everything from pickles to seafood dishes.
- Fennel–A hint of licorice; cook and use the bulb like onions; tops for herbs.
- Garlic–Plant cloves in late summer.
EASY-GROW VEGETABLES
- Carrots - Plantin early spring. Be patient–they germinate in 14 to 21 days. Keep soil moist with descent hose reels
- Snap peas– Ideal for small gardens. Flowers and tips are also edible
- Lettuce–Any and all varieties.
- Kale–Healthy, tasty, good in hot and cold dishes. Frost hardy.
- Potatoes–A must-have in any garden.
- Onion –The hardiest vegetable on Earth.
- Cabbage–Early and late varieties. Keep evenly moist to prevent splitting.
- Spinach–Plant a new crop every 2 weeks for continued harvest
- Broccoli–A very versatile and easy grow vedgtable.
- Mustard greens–Red Giant, Green Wave.
- Oriental greens–All varieties thrive in northern gardens. Nutritional heroes.
- Runner Beans –Some varieties sport beautiful white, pink or orange blossoms.
