How Does Your Garden Grow

By admin | May 25, 2006

Work in the garden is a never ending task, it certainly doesn’t stop when you get everything weeded and planted. Then the ongoing chore of watering begines. You need to fight the hose to untangle and set it up and the try to roll it back up without kinks which will forever cause you grey hairs and high blodd pressure.

No more. Not with the advent of technology and brains. Now there is an effort free way to wind up and store your hose reel.

Winding is one thing. Storing is another, my friends and family know all too well the tribulations of storing a tangled hose through the winter and then untangling every week to water their prized plants and loved lawn.

And so to do master gardeners. But these professionals know all the shortcuts worth taking. This $70 product promises to use water power to roll your normal garden hose perfectly, every time… no electricity, no batteries, and definitely no kinking.

First minor task is to attach the drain hose to the main unit, which simply clicks into place. Then connect the leader hose, and tighten the other end onto the faucet.

Now your ready to attach the regular garden hose, which wraps around the inside wheel and up the back to where you can easily screw it onto the Automatic Re-Winding Hose Reel. This lever on the side is the key to its operation. It’s pushed forward to use the hose, and pulled back to rewind.

That’s it! We’re ready to turn the water on…Okay, now for the “reel” test! see if the Reel Smart will really roll-up 100 feet of hose. You have to keep the water running as you pull the lever back to the “rewind” position.

And just like magic, it happens in front of your eyes!

Reel Smart uses only the pressure of the water to slowly but steadily wind-up the hose. A clever built in guide keeps it wrapping evenly from side-to-side.

The best investment of my life ? maybe not but my garden certainly appreciates the extra time I can spend tending to it.
